He’s given to all different kinds of charities from programs for special needs children to community organizations that have helped start schools and libraries. He’s also been a key speaker at events like the Global Indian Meet in 2012 and the annual World Economic Forum.
Eswaran is the son of a former government official and school teacher from Malaysia. It was his father who taught him at a young age to be willing to make sacrifices for others instead of taking advantage them. The principle became a cornerstone of his life.
Vijay Eswaran got his bachelor’s degree from the London School of Economics, but he didn’t enter a professional business career right away. He spent some time as a construction worker, cab driver and grape harvester before going into multilevel marketing.
At first it was just a side hobby, but in 1998 it became a full-time profession when he returned to Malaysia and worked with Joseph Bismarck at the Cosway Group. QNet is QI Group’s primary direct selling company, and independent business owners sell all the products through their own websites. Eswaran also launched a multilevel marketing training program at Quest University Perak, a partnership between a well-known Malaysian college and QI.
Vijay Eswaran has published books about his business and spiritual beliefs including In The Sphere Of Silence, In The Thinking Zone, and a book that has photography of the Malaysian landscape titled On The Wings Of Thought. Eswaran also is the chairman of the Vijayratnam Foundation which is named for his father.
